1. Project Overview

This Statement of Work (SoW) outlines the professional services to engage a contractor for the ongoing automation of Virtual Machine (VM) customizations and application deployments. The objective is to leverage Nerdio Manager for Enterprise (NME) and Azure-native tools to streamline the lifecycle management of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, ensuring operational consistency, security compliance, and reduced administrative overhead.

2. Objective

The Contractor will design, develop, and maintain automated workflows that transition manual VM configuration and software installation tasks into scalable, repeatable processes. This is an ongoing engagement to support evolving business requirements, new application rollouts, and infrastructure updates in alignment with the enterprise security standards.

3. Scope of Work

The Contractor will be responsible for the following core activities on an ongoing basis:

·       Continuous Process Improvement: Regularly evaluate manual deployment procedures and identify new opportunities for automation.

·       Automation Development:Develop, maintain, and refine PowerShell scripts and NME-based profiles.Implement automated application deployment sequences for existing and new AVD host pools.Automate OS hardening, registry configuration, and local policy management for new business requirements.

·       Platform Maintenance: Configure and optimize Nerdio Manager for Enterprise (NME) features to support changing environment needs.

·       Testing & Validation: Perform consistent testing of all automated workflows to ensure stability before production release.

·       Knowledge Transfer & Documentation: Conduct periodic technical sessions with staff and maintain updated documentation (Runbooks) to ensure team alignment with implemented automations.

4. Technical Deliverables

·       Automation Scripts: Regularly updated source code for all deployment/configuration scripts, managed within the designated version control repository.

·       Nerdio Blueprints: Updated templates and profiles within NME optimized for current and future environments.

·       Living Documentation: Continuously updated guides for maintenance, troubleshooting, and adding new application packages to the automation pipeline.

·       Compliance Reports: Verification that automated configurations remain compliant with security policies.

5. Required Skills and Qualifications

·       Nerdio Expert: Proven experience in managing and automating via Nerdio Manager for Enterprise.

·       Azure Infrastructure: Strong background in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure Compute, and Azure Image Builder.

·       Scripting Proficiency: Advanced PowerShell capabilities, including REST API interaction for Azure services.

·       Security Mindset: Commitment to implementing automated security controls and adhering to corporate compliance mandates.

·       Agile Adaptability: Ability to respond to changing business requirements and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
