Release Engineer / Technical Release Manager

We are looking for a Release Engineer / Technical Release Manager who can bring structure, technical insight and reliability to the software delivery process across multiple engineering teams. The role connects development, testing, DevOps / Platform Engineering and IT, ensuring that software moves from source code through build and testing to production in a controlled and traceable way. Beyond coordinating releases, you will help identify technical and process bottlenecks, resolve delivery blockers and increase automation across the release lifecycle.

Release Management & Delivery

• Coordinate software releases across multiple development teams, environments and delivery stages.

• Maintain release plans and follow scope, dependencies, risks, readiness and open actions through to deployment.

• Coordinate integration, regression testing, UAT and production readiness with the relevant technical and business stakeholders.

• Ensure that versions, release packages, documentation and deployment information are consistent and traceable.

Source Control & Build Processes

• Support development teams in the practical use of Git, including branching, merging, tagging and version management.

• Work with engineers on build processes and release packaging, including troubleshooting where required.

• Help improve branching and versioning practices to reduce unnecessary integration complexity.

• Maintain a clear connection between source code, builds, artifacts and deployed versions.

CI/CD & Release Automation

• Collaborate with DevOps / Platform Engineering and IT to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

• Identify manual, repetitive or error-prone activities in the release lifecycle and contribute to their automation.

• Support the improvement of automated testing, quality gates, artifact handling and deployment reliability.

• Use delivery performance data, including DORA metrics, to identify areas where the release process can become faster and more reliable.

Cross-Team Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Connect developers, Scrum teams, Project Managers, QA, DevOps / Platform Engineering and IT around common release goals.

• Translate technical release issues into clear actions and ensure that the right people are involved in resolving them.

• Establish practical release procedures, standards and checklists that support reliable delivery without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

• Promote stronger ownership, transparency and continuous improvement across the release lifecycle.

• 3+ years of experience in release engineering, software engineering, build engineering, DevOps, technical release management or a related technical delivery role.

• Practical knowledge of Git-based source control, including branching, merging, tagging and versioning.

• Good understanding of software builds and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to work with engineers when technical delivery issues arise.

• Understanding of the complete software delivery lifecycle from development and testing through deployment and production.

• Experience coordinating technical releases or deliveries involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

• Structured and analytical approach to identifying dependencies, risks and release blockers.

• Ability to work effectively with development, QA, Project Management, DevOps / Platform Engineering and IT teams.

• Strong ownership and reliability mindset, combined with a pragmatic approach to solving delivery problems.

• English proficiency (written and spoken).

• Experience working with Azure or comparable cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with microservices architectures and container-based environments.

• Experience improving or automating deployment, configuration and release processes.

• Understanding of DORA metrics and software delivery performance indicators.

• Scripting or development experience that can be applied to build and release automation.

• Experience delivering and supporting software across Windows and Linux environments.
