Senior Buyer

On behalf of our manufacturing partner located in the northern agglomeration of Budapest, we are seeking a Senior Buyer role. Our client is a dynamic international manufacturing company looking for a hands-on, agile, and results-driven procurement professional. This position offers an engaging mix of responsibilities: 60% focused on high-level strategic sourcing and supplier localization, combined with 40% hands-on operational procurement to keep you connected to real-world execution. In this well-balanced role, you will map out and expand the supplier base across Europe and East Asia while making a visible impact on daily operations. It is an ideal position for someone who enjoys long-term planning and seeing immediate operational results. 

• Strategic Sourcing & Localization: Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers across Hungary, Europe, and Asia for sheet metal, machining, plastics injection, and electrical wiring/assemblies.  

• Commercial Negotiation & Contracting: Drive end-to-end sourcing processes, including market research, RFQ/RFP execution, commercial negotiations, and long-term agreement signing.  

• Project & Supply Chain Execution: Actively support hands-on daily operations, production transfers, local sourcing initiatives, and capacity expansion projects.  

• Performance & Operational Collaboration: Monitor ongoing supplier metrics via KPIs (OTD, quality, cost efficiency) and maintain day-to-day cross-functional work with engineering, quality, production, and global procurement.

• Higher education degree. 

• Minimum 6 years as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment. 

• Proven procurement experience in technical categories.  

• Demonstrated track record in managing European and Asian suppliers, supplier localization, and manufacturing transition projects.  

• Fluent command of English, both written and spoken.  

• Proactive, independent mindset with exceptional negotiation capabilities and high accountability.
